Rhoads steps down after four years at Anderson, he posted an 11-30 record leading the Trojans. DC Daniel Hunter promoted on March 6.
Beaumont UnitedN/AN/AArthur LouisUnited High, resulting from the consolidation of Ozen and Central hires longtime area coach Arthur Louis to begin the program on March 7. Louis who started the program at Beaumont Ozen has been out of coaching since 2009.
Buda Hays Consolidated4-7Neal LaHueLes Goad
LaHue announces his retirement after five years at Hays Consolidated where he posted a 25-28. He has previously had a stint as HFC at San Antonio Roosevelt and has been an assistant at Corpus Christi Calallen, Kerrville Tivy and Seguin. HCISD hires Geronimo Navarro HC Les Goad on February 26, Goad compiled an impressive 107-28 mark in 11 years at Navarro.
Clear Brook5-4Mike AllisonLupe Florez
Allison departs after three years at Clear Brook to take over at Pearland Dawson, he leaves with a 16-16 record, the highlight was an 8-5 mark in 2016. Bay City HC Lupe Florez hired to lead Clear Brook on February 26.
Clear Creek3-6Darrell WardenDwayne LaneWarden announced his retirement in August, he spent 13 years as head coach at Clear Creek and prior to that he spent time as an assistant at Clear Creek, Clear Lake and Baytown Lee. South Houston HC Dwayne Lane hired on January 22.
Conroe1-8Robert WalkerCedric HardemanWalker announced his retirement at the conclusion of the 2017 season; he retired with a 138-103-1 overall record. Conroe hires Alief Taylor DC Hardeman on December 20.
Cypress Springs4-5Rick CobiaRusty RohanRick Cobia who spent time as a Head Coach in Caldwell and Taylor in addition to his six years at Cy Springs announced his retirement after a 35 year coaching career. DC Rusty Rohan promoted on April 13.
Dallas Skyline4-6Derick RobersonHerman JohnsonRoberson departs Skyline after three years and a 18-15 record to take over as the first head coach at Frisco Memorial. Duncanville OC Herman Johnson hired on March 26, Johnson previously was the OC at Dallas Skyline before going to Duncanville with Reginald Samples three years ago.
Deer Park6-4Chris MasseyAustin FlynnMassey, who was HFC at Deer Park for 14 years announced his retirement on December 13. He posted a 94-55 record at DPHS and had just two losing seasons. Massey was an assistant at Katy prior to his tenure at Deer Park and was a part of three state title teams and one state runner up team. DPISD brings in Grand View University OC and DPHS alum Austin Flynn on January 29.
DeSoto10-2Todd PetermanMike RobinsonPeterman resigns at DeSoto after three years and a 32-8 record, he led the Eagles to the 2016 state championship. DeSoto hires North Mesquite HC Mike Robinson on February 26, Robinson is a 17 year veteran of head coaching with stints at Wilmer-Hutchins, Dallas Hillcrest and North Mesquite.
Donna North1-9Matthew RokovichJoe MarichalarRokovich retires after a two year stint at Donna North where he posted a 3-17 record. He had a 34 year career in athletics as an assistant at Laredo Martin, Brackett, Donna and Weslaco among others. Former Edcouch-Elsa HC Marichalar hired on January 9.
Edinburg North5-6Rene SaenzDamian Gonzalez
Saenz was reassigned after four years and a 17-26 record at Edinburg North. Baseball Coach Gonzalez named HFC on February 6.
Fort Worth Paschal0-10Matt MiracleChris JamesMiracle is out after three years at Paschal, he posted a 5-25 mark. FWISD hires former Crowley HC Chris James on March 7.
Grand Prairie5-6Gary BartelTony TademyBartel, who led GPHS to their first playoff appearance in 28 years is promoted to GPISD AD. Bartel, who was a college assistant for 28 years had been the HFC at his alma mater for 14 years. Former TCU LB Coach and Katy Tompkins HC Tony Tademy named HFC on March 23.
Houston Strake Jesuit8-3Mark ModesteKlay KubiakOC Klay Kubiak was promoted to HFC in January after Modeste steps down after just one season.
Houston Stratford6-4Elliot AllenN/AAllen leaves Stratford after 16 years and a 118-62 record to take over at Brenham.
Humble Summer Creek7-4Brian FordKenny HarrisonFord, who is the only coach Summer Creek has known announced his retirement on January 5. He posted a 54-32 record, including back to back 11-1 seasons in 2012 and 2013. Summer Creek brings in Port Arthur Memorial HC Kenny Harrison on February 14.
Irving3-7Aaron De La TorreN/AIrving alum De La Torre resigns after six seasons and an 18-43 record.

Katy Taylor6-5Trey HermannChad SimmonsHermann was placed on administrative leave in September and ultimately reassigned within Katy ISD. Joe Sheffy took over mid-season as an interim and led Taylor to the area playoffs. Katy ISD hires longtime Cinco Ranch OC Chad Simmons on January 15. Simmons had been DC at Cinco Ranch since 2004 and has spent the past 18 years at Cinco.
Killeen Ellison5-6Trent GregoryTodd WrightGregory anounces his retirement after 33 years in education, including five at Ellison where he turned around a program that had lost 30 straight games when he arrived. Killeen ISD hires Houston Waltrip HC Todd Wright on March 9.
Klein Collins11-1Drew Svoboda
Adrian MitchellSvoboda resigns after ten successful seasons to take the RB Coach position at Rice. Svoboda posted a 93-24 record including a run to the 6A state semi-finals in 2016. DC Adrian Mitchell promoted to HFC on April 20.
Kyle Lehman1-9Josh KirklandBruce Salmon
Kirkland departs Lehman after just one year to take an assistant job at the University of Incarnate Word. HCISD hires Marion HC Bruce Salmon who is 61-58 in eleven years as a HC with stops at Gonzales and Marion.
Laredo Alexander6-6Joel LopezSergio SalinasLopez reassigned after twelve seasons and a 78-64 record at Laredo Alexander. Alexander stays inside of United ISD and brings in Laredo United South HC Sergio Salinas in on January 24.
Laredo United South4-7Sergio SalinasJoe CossSalinas departs United South after six years and a 32-34 record to take over at Laredo Alexander. The highlight was a 10-3 record in 2016. United South hires Round Rock Cedar Ridge DC Coss on February 15.
McKinney7-4Jeff SmithMarcus ShaversSmith departs McKinney after eight years and a 28-53 record to take a job as the assistant AD at Prosper ISD. McKinney hires Allen alum and Lubbock Estacado HC Marcus Shavers on February 27.
New Braunfels Canyon2-8Joe MoczygembaJoe LepsisMoczygemba took over in July 2014 after 21 years as an assistant at Smithson Valley. He posted a 9-31 record in four years at Canyon, he's moving to an administrative role in Comal ISD. Canyon hires Wylie East HC Joe Lepsis who compiled a 51-39 mark in eight years at Wylie East.
North Crowley4-6Eugene RogersCourtney Allen
Rogers, who was an assistant on North Crowley's state title team in 2003 was reassigned after five seasons. Crowley ISD hires Dallas Lincoln OC Courtney Allen on April 12.
North Mesquite3-7Mike RobinsonTim SederRobinson departs after eleven seasons and a 52-62 record to take over at DeSoto. His best season at NMHS was a 10-3 mark in 2015. Mesquite ISD promotes Mesquite Horn DC and former Dallas Cowboys kicker Tim Seder to HFC on March 21.
Pasadena Dobie3-6Mike NormanKevin Berneathy
Norman resigns on November 16 after three years at Dobie. He posted an 11-19 record. Pasadena ISD names Angleton OC Kevin Bernaeathy HFC on February 7.
Pasadena South Houston5-4Dwayne LanePatrick LongstreetLane departs after five years to take over at Clear Creek. He led SoHo to the playoffs in his final two seasons. Rosenberg Terry OC Patrick Longstreet hired on February 27.
Pearland5-4James FarmerRicky TullosLongtime HC Tony Heath retired in June 2017; Farmer was quickly named interim HC for 2017. He is still a contender to get the job on a full time basis. In steps George Ranch HC Ricky Tullos who posted a 59-17 mark in six years, including a state title in 2015.
Pearland Dawson6-4Eric WellsMike AllisonWells announced he would be moving to Pearland ISD Assistant AD in September. He's the only coach Dawson has known; in 2009 and 2011 he led Dawson to the state semi-finals in 4A and in 6A in 2014 he led the Eagles to the state semi-finals. He was 90-35 in his ten seasons at Pearland Dawson. Dawson brings in former DC, Clear Brook HC Mike Allison to take over.
Richmond George Ranch6-4Ricky TullosNick CavalloTullos, who opened George Ranch departs to take over at Pearland after six stellar seasons posting a 59-17 mark, including leading GRHS to the 2015 5A Division I state title. LCISD hires Rosenberg Tery DC Nick Cavallo as HFC on March 22.
San Antonio Taft2-8Brian DavenportRicky Stade
Davenport retires after thirteen seasons at Taft where he posted a 38-93 record. Northside ISD brings in San Antonio O'Connor DC Ricky Stade to take over on February 5.
San Antonio Warren6-5Bryan Dausin
Jeff Robbins
Dausin announces his retirement after 24 years and a 165-107 record as a HC at San Antonio Roosevelt, San Antonio Marshall and San Antonio Warren. Dausin coached Roosevelt to the 1995 state title. DC Jeff Robbins promoted to HFC on March 1.
Southlake Carroll10-4Hal WassonRiley DodgeWasson and Carroll ISD part ways with a settlement on February 25 after a bizarre month long ordeal in which Wasson was put on administrative leave. He posted an impressive 121-26 record leading the Dragons to a state title in 2011. CISD hires SLC legend and Justin Northwest OC Riley Dodge, he'll be one of the state's youngest head coaches when he takes over.
The Woodlands7-2Mark SchmidJim RappSchmid resigned his post on January 18 after 14 seasons as the HFC at The Woodlands. He has spent the last 30 years at TWHS as either an asisstant or HFC. He led The Woodlands to the 2016 state title game. Conroe ISD promotes OC Jim Rapp to HFC on February 20.
Waxahachie8-5Jon KitnaTodd AlexanderKitna resigned his post on February 9 after three years and a 20-13 record at Waxahachie. Longtime Waxhahachie assistant and alum Todd Alexander hired on March 29.

Angleton13-1Ryan RoarkJason BrittainRoark retires after a 30 year career in education, he had a 127-63 record as a head coach with stints at Needville, Bullard and Princeton in addition to being an assistant at Burnet, Bangs, Cuero and Rice Consolidated. DC Jason Brittain promoted on April 23.
Austin LBJ7-4Andrew JacksonJahmal FennerJackson, a main stay in the Austin area passed away on December 12 after battle with cancer. Despite his failing health, Coach Jackson managed to coach his team to a playoff appearance. He spent time as a HC in Lancaster and at Austin Reagan where he led the Raiders to the state semi-finals in 2001. OC Jahmal Fenner hired on February 22.
Austin McCallum14-1Charles TaylorTom GammerdingerTaylor departs McCallum after four years and an impressive 35-13 record to take over at nearby Pflugerville. DC Tom Gammerdinger promoted on March 9.
Brenham6-4Glen WestEliot Allen
West steps aside after 20 years at Brenham, he led the Cubs to three state title game appearances. He will become the Assistant Executive Director of the THSCA. Brenham hires Houston Stratford HC Eliot Allen.
Brownsville Lopez8-3Jason StarkeyN/AStarkey, a former NFL player resigns after five years at Lopez to go into the private sector. He posted a 20-32 record at LHS, but the past two years the Lobos were a solid 15-7.
Carrollton Turner1-9Mike RamirezIsaiah YoungRamirez moves into a role within the CFBISD Athletic Department after five years leading RL Turner. DC Isaiah Young promoted to HFC on April 24.
Crowley6-5
Chris JamesJJ ResendezJames resigns as the winningest coach in school history posting a 50-37 record in eight seasons at Crowley. He led the Eagles to three district titles, in the entire history of the school before James took over CHS had won just two district titles. Crowley hires Fort Worth South Hills HC JJ Resendez on April 12.
Edcouch-Elsa5-5Joe MarichalarBradley ChavezMarichalar reassigned after five seasons at the helm, the Edcouch alum led the 'Jackets to the third round of the playoffs in 2015 and 2016. He posted a 37-21 mark at Edcouch-Elsa. Edcouch hires Kingsville Academy HC Bradley Chavez on December 18.
Everman7-4Dale KeelingDale MatlockKeeling wraps up a stellar 20 year career at Everman, where he won two state titles, made three other state semi-final runs and three quarter-final appearances. In eleven of his twenty years at Everman, the Bulldogs advanced to at least the third round of the playoffs. Keeling retires with 237 career wins. Longtime DC Matlock promoted to HFC/AD on December 18.
Forney2-8Kevin RushAaron WoodsRush retires after 16 years leading Forney, he posted an 83-88 overall record, his best season was his first when he took Forney to the 3A DI State Semi-Finals. Former Waxahachie and Cedar Hill OC Aaron Woods hired April 25.

Frisco Heritage4-6Che HendrixKenneth GilchristHendrix departs Heritage after seven seasons and a 30-43 record to take over at Boerne. His best season was a 10-3 mark in 2014. Frisco ISD hires Whitney HC Kenneth Gilchrist on April 3.

Joshua4-6Mike BurtGary RobinsonBurt moves into an AD only role at Joshua after a five year stint as HFC and AD. Joshua hires former Krum HC Gary Robinson on December 21.
Lubbock2-8Jason StrunkShane StephenStrunk resigns his post at Lubbock High after seven seasons; he led the Westerners to the playoffs in 2012 breaking a 36 year post-season drought. LISD names Mansfield High assistant Shane Stephen as HFC on February 22.
Manvel14-1Kirk MartinKevin HallMartin resigns his post after a tremendous run at Manvel posting a 112-30 record in eleven seasons and taking Manvel to two state title games. Martin is leaving to take a position on staff at Syracuse. Alvin ISD promotes DC Kevin Hall to HFC on March 6.
Mission Pioneer6-5Jason WheelerThomas LeeWheeler, who is the only coach Pioneer has known was relieved of his duties after four years and a 23-19 record. He led Pioneer to a district title in just their third year of varsity football in 2016. Athletic Coordinator and Track Coach Thomas Lee, who was a HC at Mission previously tabbed to take the reins of the football program on January 22.
Montgomery Lake CeekN/AN/APat KennedyMontgomery ISD's second high school begins varsity football in 2018. They hire The Woodlands DC Pat Kennedy on January 23 as their first ever HFC.
Mount Pleasant2-8Corey HomerRitchie PinkardHomer resigns after three years and a 7-24 record, the Tigers advanced to the playoffs in 2016. Ennis assistant coach Pinkard hired on December 18, Pinkard prior to his time in Ennis was HFC at Callisburg.
Port Arthur Memorial8-2Kenny HarrisonBrian MorganHarrison departs his native Port Arthur after nine seasons leading the Memorial program where he posted a 69-36 record to take over at Humble Summer Creek. PAISD promotes offensive assistant and Port Arthur native Brian Morgan on March 22.
Pflugerville2-8George HerrmannCharles TaylorHerrmann shortly before the end of the season announced his retirement after 21 years at Pflugerville, he led the Panthers to the 5A state championship game in 2007. PISD hires Austin McCallum HC Charles Taylor on February 14.
Red Oak2-8Brian BrownChris RossBrown retires after a 28 year coaching career, he won a pair of state titles at Texarkana Liberty-Eylau as an assistant in 1999 and 2006. Brown spent three years as HC at Liberty-Eylau before his four year stint at Red Oak. ROSID names Boise State Director of Program Development Chris Ross HFC on January 22. Ross, who is best known for a seven year run as HFC at Cedar Park also has been a HFC at Wichita Falls and Prosper.
San Antonio Burbank5-6Mark PerezN/APerez resigns after six years and a 14-48 record, he led Burbank to their only two playoff appearances since 1978.
San Antonio Kennedy0-10Michael IncoBen BenavidesInco departs Kennedy after four years and a 6-34 record. Kennedy hires San Antonio Burbank DC Ben Benavides on March 2.
San Antonio McCollum0-10Greg FeluxMatthew Uzzell
After a difficult 0-10 campaign Felux has resigned his post. He was 7-24 in three years at McCollum. Harlandale ISD brings in Trinity University OC and alum Matthew Uzzell on February 20.
White Settlement Brewer6-5Wade GriffinTodd PetermanGriffin departs Brewer after four years to take over at Giddings, he took to Bears to the playoffs in three of his four seasons. Former DeSoto HC Todd Peterman hired on March 19, Peterman posted a 32-8 mark in three years at DeSoto including a 2016 state title.

Adam CookMarcus GoldCook promoted to Athletic Director after five seasons where he posted a 31-24 record. DC Marcus Gold promoted on April 9.
Willis2-7Audie JacksonMike Wall
Jackson was reassigned on December 8 after ten years and a 51-52 record at Willis. He led the Wildkats to the playoffs five times. Before taking over Willis had won just one game between 2005-2007 and he departs as the longest tenured coach in school history. Lake Travis OC Mike Wall hired on February 7.
Wylie East2-8Joe LepsisMike DormadyLepsis departs Wylie East after eight years and a 51-39 record to take over at New Braunfels Canyon. He's the only coach the school has known since it began varsity football in 2010. East moves very quickly in naming Boerne HC Mike Dormady HC on January 30.

Giddings5-6Chris JonesWade GriffinJones departs Giddings after seven years to take over at Pecos. Jones posted a 51-29 record including and 11-3 mark in 2016 and a 12-1 mark in 2015. Giddings hires Brewer HC Wade Griffin who has a career record of 55-35 in stints at Brewer, Elgin and Brookshire Royal.

Monahans9-3Mickey OwensMel MaxfieldOwens announces his retirement after a stellar career in which he posted a 173-69 record. In 13 years at Monahans Owens compiled a 121-41 mark. Former Amarillo HC Mel Maxfield hired on February 23 he has a 239-114-1 record with stints at Forney, Burleson and Amarillo.

Goodman departs after two years and an 8-14 mark at Navasota. Navasota hires Graham OC and Navasota alum Casey Dacus on February 27.

Pugh departs Orange Grove after two seasons and a 12-10 record. Ridge Point RB Coach DelPercio hired on March 20, he's got a 151-62 record as a Head Coach in Delaware winning three state titles.
Pearsall10-1David SilvaJoey RiveraSilva departs Pearsall after five years and a 33-22 record to take over at Cotulla. Corsicana DC Rivera hired on April 3.
Pecos5-5Chris HensonChris JonesHenson moves into a role as principal after twelves years as Head Coach at Pecos. He posted a 59-65 record at Pecos. Pecos hires Giddings HC Chris Jones on January 18.
Poteet3-7Doug FosterN/AFoster resigns after four years and a 14-28 record at Poteet.

Muleshoe5-7David WoodLee WalkerWood announced his retirement shortly after the Mules were eliminated from the playoffs. He spent 22 years as HC at Muleshoe with a 184-79 record. He led the Mules to the state title in 2008 and two other state semi-final appearances. Plainview DC Lee Walker named HFC/AD on January 22.
