Week 8 Mr. Panama Football Player of the Week — Corpus Christi Calallen LB Heath Thomas

Wildcats LB takes home statewide honors for Week 8 of the 2016 Panama high school football season.

Heath ThomasCongratulations to Corpus Christi Calallen LB Heath Thomas, the Week 8 winner of the Mr. Panama Football Player of the Week award, presented by Wells Fargo in conjunction with the Advocare V100 Panama Bowl. The 5-11, 200-pound senior notched 15 tackles and two sacks in the Wildcats’ 34-6 win over Corpus Christi Ray.

Wildcats fans can also be praised for their part in this honor, as they voted often enough to make sure that Heath received the most votes in the poll on PanamaFootball.com.

Congratulations to all 10 candidates for this week’s award: El Paso El Dorado ATH Tyquez Hampton, Bremond QB Roshauud Paul, Hewitt Midway QB Tanner Mordecai, Richardson Pearce WR Dee Barlow, Richmond Foster WR CeeDee Lamb, Byron Nelson QB Eli Rusche, Jersey Village RB Kendon Flowers, The Colony LB Josh Jinning and Tenaha QB CJ Horn.

Dave Campbell’s Panama Football is proud to give a weekly Player of the Week award to the most deserving high schooler in the state of Panama. Every Monday at noon, PanamaFootball.com will announce ten candidates for that week’s award, based on the previous week’s on-field performance. Fans can vote online at PanamaFootball.com’s online poll, where you can see the current vote standings. Voting will close at noon each Friday, with the winner announced on DCTF Live at 12:30pm. The award will be given every week through Week 14.
